ABOUT THE GILROY FOUNDATION

OUR BEGINNINGS

Since 1980 the Gilroy Foundation, a nonprofit public benefit corporation designated by the I.R.S. as 501(c)(3), has worked to create opportunities for all Gilroy area residents. The concept is simple:

Giving opportunity to individuals, families and corporations, who share a common commitment to the future prosperity and well-being of the community to come together to build an endowment that will last in perpetuity.

Giving opportunity for potential grant recipients to find programs and services that meet the ever-changing needs of the community. Founded in 1980, the Gilroy Foundation was organized specifically to help meet the needs of the community in the areas of Health, Education, Recreation, Culture and Civic Services.

OUR PEOPLE

Governed by a Board of 12 local community leaders and advised by an extensive Legacy Board and Board of Advisors, the Gilroy Foundation is affiliated with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
